Enfield Civic Centre is located in a 40-year-old building in Enfield Town centre. Enfield Borough Council wanted to ensure the building remained fit for purpose in the longer term and appointed Pellings to undertake a detailed Schedule of Condition Survey, with recommendations and costings for remedial works. The project was undertaken in an occupied building reflecting our strategic and efficient approach to the works.

Pellings was then additionally appointed to provide Building Surveying, Design and Contract Administration services to the refurbishment project. Works to the project involved the renewal of the building’s mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the lifts. We also remodelled seven floors of offices (working on two floors at a time), and a staff canteen to ensure employees had a comfortable and safe working environment. Asbestos was removed and we installed new facilities, including toilets and showers. Furthermore, we created break-out areas and flexible meeting spaces with sliding, foldable glass walls and feature ceilings.
