Who we are
Pellings are a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy of accomplished individuals, providing expert advice within the industry. Our work with our Private and Public Sector clients spans across various sectors, including the Commercial, Education, Industrial, Leisure and Residential sectors.
What makes us different is our national and international reach and the scale of projects on which we work. We joined the RSK group of companies in 2018, opening a doorway to nationwide opportunities and additional services we can provide to clients. Furthermore, we prize innovation and always aim to embrace the latest technical developments.
Our values
At Pellings, we know our people are the key to our success. We are aware that our team of friendly, loyal and accomplished individuals separates us from our competitors, and we prize their expertise. Therefore, it is essential that we continue to create a nurturing, respectful environment in honour of our core values: Commitment, Innovation, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Professionalism. Our staff radiate enthusiasm and passion for their work which is something our clients have historically been drawn to. Fundamental to our business is a commitment to provide a safe, inclusive and motivational environment for our staff. We are dedicated to maintaining dignity and respect within the workplace to ensure that individual differences and the contributions of employees are recognised and valued. The wellbeing of our team is our top priority which is why we have employed our very own mental health first aider and wellbeing champions to ensure our staff feel supported. We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and continually evaluate the diversity and inclusivity of our workforce. We also aim to enable a good work-life balance for everyone on our team to increase our productivity and the wellbeing of our people.
Our culture
At Pellings, we will support you from day one, no matter what stage of your career you join us at. We will set clear development goals that tie into your professional aspirations whilst ensuring we provide you with the right tools to achieve those goals. We have been recognised by the Investors in People (IIP) which is an accreditation we are proud to have as it reflects the respect and appreciation we have for our team. We offer a supportive and inspiring working environment in which our staff are encouraged to share their specialised expertise and knowledge. Whilst Pellings is part of the wider RSK group, it has the feel of a smaller company due to its high levels of support and personal recognition. Furthermore, our multi-disciplinary approach to construction allows all members of the team to interconnect and learn from different disciplines.
As well as our big yearly events, such as our Summer Conference and Christmas party, our dedicated events management team help us host regular internal events, including Pizza Mondays, Go-Karting, quiz nights and Wellbeing Days for our well-deserving staff. We also host regular charity events across our offices to connect and learn from our local communities.
Training and Personal Development
The educational background of our professional and technical staff typically includes a degree, followed by further study to gain membership of construction industry professional bodies (RICS, RIBA, APM, ICE, ISTRUCTE, CIBSE etc.). Some staff continue their training in specialist areas, leading to further qualifications and specialist memberships.
Pellings are committed to the ongoing development of our team and consider this investment a priority. We aim to fulfil individual potential, increase our commercial effectiveness, maintain a hardworking environment and give back to the wider community. We offer CPD online courses and support staff to gain professional qualifications, of which they achieve consistently high pass rates. These courses range from Time Management and Personal Development to Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity to ensure our staff are informed and updated with the latest policies. This allows staff to be well-equipped in offering practical solutions to obstacles with the minimum consequences. Our internal online system ensures staff have easy access to the core policy documentation and that amendments to the guidelines are communicated effectively across the firm. We make sure that our learning approach is closely aligned with the needs of our clients and stakeholders, so we can constantly improve from the work we do. Additionally, there are excellent opportunities within Pellings for career progression. Regular assessments are carried out and individual development plans are discussed with staff to encourage them to achieve their full potential. Packages and benefits are reviewed in line with progression, and we promote an open-door policy. If you are new to the construction industry, we provide a friendly place to gain insight into every aspect of the industry through our mentoring opportunities. Many of our current staff and partners began their careers with us as trainees or graduates.
Here is what our staff say:

I joined Pellings into a role that was completely new for the company. Not only have I been given a great amount of support since day one, but I have also been given the autonomy to develop my role into what it has become today.

The team set-up at Pellings gives the feeling of working for a smaller practice, where everyone plays a vital role, whilst the cross-team collaboration and type of projects we deliver give the feeling of a much larger organisation. Since I have been with Pellings, my development as a professional, but also as part of the Pellings team has always been encouraged and supported. Hard work is always appreciated, and good work is always acknowledged.

I joined Pellings as I was given the opportunity to build a team, grow our client base and get involved in wider business activities. The culture is different here – you are not just a number in a big machine; you know your contribution is valued and the Board has an open-door policy
