Associate Building Surveyor

Due to company growth and an increasing project pipeline, we are recruiting for an Associate Building Surveyor to join us at our Bromley office. This is a newly created role where you will be working directly for the Partner within the team and act as their second in command.

Employment Type: Permanent

Pay/Package: Dependent on experience

Company sector: Construction across New Build Social Housing, Education, Civic and Industrial

Experience: We predominately work across the Social Housing and Education sectors across London and the South East, so experience working within these sectors is essential.

The team you will be joining also deals with professional matters including party walls, acquisition surveys/technical due diligence and defect inspections so experience in these areas is desirable, but not essential.

Qualifications: Chartered Surveyor or Member of Institute of Building

Person specification:


You will have good traditional building surveying skills and experience of working on projects in public sector housing and the education sector from inception to completion. You will also possess strong communication skills with the ability to interface with clients/contractors and other professionals working within an existing team.


Role and responsibilities:

  • Taking full responsibility for technical matters for projects within his/her control.
  • Programming your work and resources available to ensure satisfactory completion of all projects
  • Writing specification, contract administration and running public sector housing and education projects.
  • Preparing and submitting applications for statutory consent and liaising with relevant authorities.
  • Structural Surveys and Acquisition Inspections of buildings.
  • Building Defects Analysis.
