St Mary Magdalene School selected to be part of Open House London 2011

The St Mary Magdalene School designed and project managed by Pellings has been selected to be part of the architectural showcase event Open House London. The building in Woolwich will open its doors to the public between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September.

Open House London is an annual event that celebrates all that is best about the capital's buildings, places and neighbourhoods. Every September, it gives a unique opportunity to get out and under the skin of London's amazing architecture, with over 700 buildings of all kinds opening their doors to everyone - all for free. This year it takes place over the weekend of 17 and 18 September.

The School was officially opened by the Bishop of Southwark on 17 July 2011, the building was selected due to the unique design and sustainable features that were incorporated in the construction. The striking four storey building incorporates 'playdecks' to enable children to safely play and learn over several floors and replaces the Victorian primary school that originally occupied the site.

Neal Penfold and Neill Werner from Pellings will be offering tours of the building during the two day exhibition, to view information about the project on the Open House London site click here.
