Planning Consent gained for £15m Mixed Use Site

Architects and Town Planning Consultants Pellings have gained unanimous planning consent from London Borough of Bexley for a £15m mixed use site in Albion Road, Bexleyheath for developer Skillcrown Homes.

The site, which is currently an unattractive two storey carpark will be developed to provide a 109 room Travelodge hotel; 43 flats, which will be a mixture of affordable and open sale units and 880m2 of commercial space. In addition a replacement public carpark will be provided.

A number of improvements will also be made to Royal Oak Road to improve traffic flows and highway safety.

The planning application was led by Pellings who are working on behalf of Skillcrown Homes.

James Sharp, Head of Planning at Pellings said:

"These proposals will introduce high quality, modern design into Bexleyheath Town Centre, and are wholly in line with the Council's recently published Development and Improvement Framework for the town centre.

The apartments and commercial space improve the public realm and breathe new life into the town centre. Finally, the hotel will create jobs for 32 people, and could generate additional £1m revenue to the local economy through the spending of guests."
