Bradwell Street Holds Topping Out Ceremony

Bradwell Street, the first new build project to be commissioned by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets for almost 30 years, held its topping out ceremony on the 24 February. The £2.7m project, on which Pellings are acting as Employers Agent, comprises 12 units, including detached wheelchair accessible houses, semi-detached family houses, 2-bed flats and a community facility.

Matthew Carr, Employer's Agent who is leading Pellings EA involvement on the development, was present at the ceremony which was attended by Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Rabina Khan, CEO of Tower Hamlets Homes, Gavin Cansfield, and, Chair of Longnor Tenants' and Residents' Association, Joan Burton. The event acted as a precursor to a future event to be held in July 2015 for the opening of the development.

The development, which is being built partly on the site of 43 garages, was identified as part of LBTH's Project 120, which identified the top 120 families most in need in the borough. The development also includes improvement of the existing public realm and the provision of a new community centre for local residents.
