Local Authority New Build Housing Seminar

Pellings' latest client workshop focussing on Local Authority New Build housing, took place at the Building Centre this week. The event was hosted by Ian Collins, Head of Employers Agent Services at Pellings, and incorporated presentations by Paul Munday from Haringey BC, and Paul Pledger from Epping Forest DC. The presentations covered the challenges that they are facing delivering new build housing, and how these are being overcome. With the shortage of new homes at record levels, many Local Authorities are taking advantage of funding, and are even self-financing new build housing within their communities, in an attempt to ease the problem. Pellings have a strong track record of working with Local Authorities, many of whom have not been involved with new build housing for over a quarter of a century, to understand the development potential within their land portfolios, identify sites, and deliver homes to meet demand within their communities.

Attendees ranged from representatives from inner London Authorities, to rural Borough Councils; and included some who were taking their first steps into new build housing for many years, to those much further along with their programmes to deliver new homes. The relevance of the topic was demonstrated by a lively debate and sharing of experiences following the presentations.
