School Highly Commended at BCSE Awards

The St Mary Magdalene C of E School in Woolwich has been Highly Commended in the 'Excellence in Design for Teaching and Learning: Primary New Build' category at the British Council for School Environments (BCSE) Best of British Schools Awards.

The recognition is the second of its kind, following a runner up spot for the School at the RICS London Regional Awards. The building which was completed in February 2011 was designed and project managed by Pellings, and built by contractor Lakehouse.

The BCSE is an education charity which pioneers and supports the creation of effective and efficient learning environments. Their annual awards celebrate the best schools in Britain. Competition was tough with ten projects shortlisted, and second spot within this highly competitive category is a fantastic achievement.
