Pellings project up for two RICS Awards

An innovative new build project where Pellings acted as Architect, Town Planner, Interior Designer, and Employers Agent for Kent County Council, has been shortlisted in two categories at the RICS South East Awards 2014.

The Goat Lees School in Kennington, Ashford, is a pioneering example of a modern school enhancing the surrounding area with its innovative architecture, and delivering an optimal learning environment through 'teacher led design'.

The area surrounding the school had seen significant new residential development in the last decade, and a contemporary school was urgently required to cater for local children and to provide an architectural focal point. The provision of shared space for general community use was an important prerequisite, and the £2.75m scheme delivers facilities that can be used by a wide range of the local community.

The project is shortlisted in the Design and Innovation, and Community Benefit categories. The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony at Epsom Racecourse on May 1st.
